UNDERNEATH YOUR CLOTHES

HAPPY HEARTS DAY!

A song that bares my soul. Hope you like it.

Underneath Your Clothes
Words by: Shakira
Music by: Shakira and Lester Mendez

You're a song
Written by the hands of god
Don't get me wrong cause
This might sound to you a bit odd
But you own the place
Where all my thoughts go hiding
And right under your clothes
Is where I find them
Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

Because of you
I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of you
I'm running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are gone
When the party's over
We will still belong to each other

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin' talkin' walkin' breathing
You know it's true
Oh baby it's so funny
You almost don't believe it
As every voice is hanging from the silence
Lamps are hanging from the celing
Like a lady to her good manners
I'm tied up to this feeling

Underneath Your Clothes
There's an endless story
There's the man I chose
There's my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

ON MAKING THE FIRST MOVE...

I happened to watch a talk show last sunday and its theme was about working with someone you consider really special. A guy was asked how he would react if a girl courts him instead. He answered...he'll be amazed and admire that girl for having the courage to make the first move...

How many men would have the same reaction towards women who are open about their feelings for them???

I believe there is nothing wrong about being honest, most especially if it concerns matters of the heart--and this thing goes out to both men and women who are tortured by the thought of whether somebody likes him/her or not.

I know the ultra-conservative society wouldn't agree with me because of the culture and traditions that have rooted from our forefathers--that women should wait for the men to make the first move at love.

I'm not saying that we should do away with these cultural values and traditions. Maria Clara-type of women still exist in this new age and time and i got nothing against them. Actually, I admire them for remaining as conservative as they are despite the many culture-bound influences in the media! What i'm only saying is, if you think you cannot live another day haunted by creeping thoughts of whether your feelings for another person may be reciprocated or not, you might as well blurt it out to the person...we'll of course, without undermining the possibility of being rejected. Never undermine the consequences of your actions. If you cannot face rejection, might as well not do it. You might just end up doubly frustrated about the whole thing (just sulk in one corner and wait 'til the end of time!...who knows!...he might court you once in your lifetime!).

I'm just being practical about the whole thing. Well, I did it once and it worked!...I had to do it coz he was kind of "torpe" when it comes to courting a girl. There was this existing mutual understanding between us and we knew each other for quite a long time..enough for me to be comfortable in asking him whether he feels something special for me or not. Luckily, it worked! We started from there and it made easier for him to make things official for us.

Just a little advise, if you feel the chances are too slim for you to receive a favorable response from the other person...just DROP THE IDEA OF ASKING HIM!...that'll be a DOUBLE JEOPARDY on you!!!like committing TWO TECHNICAL FOULS in a row!(",)

I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER

I always have this song in my head whenever I wake up and before I go off to sleep. It's cute and it reminds me of my baby...every moment of the day...It's quite corny but it makes me smile whenever I hear it played over the radio or in my head...

I Say A Little Prayer
( Dionne Warwick )

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair, now
And wondering what dress to wear, now
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, forever, we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, together, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me

I run for the bus, dear
While riding I think of us, dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work, I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, forever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, together, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me

I say a little prayer for you

I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, forever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, together, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only be heartbreak for me

My darling, believe me
For me there is no one
But you ....

MONA LISA SMILE

My boyfriend and I went out to see the movie "Mona Lisa Smile." 'Twas a great movie. I would say that every woman should see it. It's about empowering women to make them (us) cope with the needs of the times. We are not born to be slaves of men nor be underdogs in a double-standard society...Hey! It isn't true that this is a man's world!!!!

All men and women are created equal. It is true that women can't do all the things that men do. In the same manner, it is true that men can't do all the things that women do. I'm not saying that women overpower men (hey! we do in some instances!) but both genders should live in co-existence. Noone is entitled to claim that one specie is better than the other. Both should live respecting the rights of each other regardless of all aspects that differentiate one from the other. (Sige na nga!)

Another thing I like about the movie is the role of Julia Roberts as Catherine Watson who is a teacher of Art History in an exclusive university for girls. She was a non-conformist type of teacher who deviates from the ultra-conservative course syllabus provided by the school and opened the doors for the students to think independently of how they should perceive life and their roles in the society, overcoming all barriers that hinder them from taking a step towards self-determination. She inspired the students by making them seek for their own individuality. She introduced them to contemporary arts which became a vehicle for the students to change their ways.

Education should be dynamic. It should respond to the needs of an ever-changing world of systems and cultures. The road was too rough for Catherine but she took all risks to change the system. How many Catherines are there in the school system who would be willing to take the challenge of keeping education in touch with reality???? How many would step back and say hey, studes! Education is not confined within the four corners of your classroom. Go out! Live life! That's where the action is! Huwag kayong bookish! Whatever you have learned from this classroom you must apply in the outside world! If you'll be able to survive out there, congratulations! Education has worked well for you!

I thought my boyfriend will sleep on that movie coz it wasn't his cup of tea. Boy! I'm glad he enjoyed it and afterwards we had a short discussion of the values we got from it. And i'm glad he is not a chauvinist who would think that women are just second in rank in all aspects of the society. He recognizes the value of women in the lives of men. (pogie points!)...(Eh di inaway-away ko kaya sya pag di sya umayos ng sagot dun sa gender issues!...lolz!!!!...well, i don't actually do that...I always have an open mind to other people's views ",)

...U might ask if I will take the challenge to the educators myself????...DEFINITELY, I WILL! I don't care if everybody goes against my principles. All I want to do is that when my students leave my classroom, i'll make sure they have learned at least a thing or two that will help them cope with the realities of life...whether they remember me or not...i'll be happy to know they have survived life!

HAPPY!...SHA-LA-LA-LA!

I just couldn't get my hands off this keyboard!...Just want to share how happy I am right now! My boyfriend just arrived from another planet...oh!...nah!...from Cambodia (it does seem like another planet to me coz that's far from where I am now!). He is stayin' for a week and I want it to be memorable one for the two of us!...Just when you miss the one you love...it can really drive you crazy!!!...am I?????.....I AM!
